Place Lab has started implementing some of the quick wins identified in the highly successful Curtin University Place Activation Plan.

While our colleagues at Place Match have been arranging food vans (Parkd), buskers and giant inflatable couches to excite the students, we have been focused on upgrading some of the external spaces. The first project to be completed is the Main Cafe Courtyard. Our aim was to create a flexible space that could be used for both everyday activity and events. Our simple design has transformed the courtyard into a vibrant and enjoyable student hub. Peter Bennetts’ photography has captured the relaxed vibe of the space.
