The City of Kwinana asked PLACE Laboratory to advise them on PLACE MAKING. Kwinana has formed a Place Making Team, and invited PLACE Lab to present our knowledge and best practice around Place Making to develop the team, policies and activities.
PLACE Lab presented 4 aspects of Place Making:
- EVENTS – activating specific places;
- ORGANISATION – within community & council to facilitate activation of people;
- SPACE- change the physical environment to stimulate people to activate places; and
- ENGAGEMENT – engaging community in the process.
